Meera Chopra, known for her roles in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films, is stepping outside her comfort zone for her upcoming movie, 'Safed'. Playing a widow in the film, Chopra tackles the challenges of portraying her character without the usual tools of the trade: makeup and hairstyling.

In 'Safed,' Chopra's character finds solace in an unlikely relationship with an eunuch, both ostracized by society. She candidly admits the difficulty of facing the camera bare-faced: "Without hair styling and makeup, we become conscious about our looks in front of the camera."

But Chopra embraced the challenge, letting go of vanity to fully embody her character: "When I started shooting, I tried to put a base on my face, but my director, Sandeep, sent me back to wash it off. It was refreshing for me to be like that. I used to just get up, wash my face and go for the shoot. It enabled me to play Kaali in an easier, natural way."

This raw and unadulterated portrayal promises to bring depth and authenticity to the film. Chopra's dedication to her craft shines through, showcasing a willingness to go beyond the conventional beauty standards often associated with actresses.

Speaking about her cousin, Mannara Chopra, who is currently a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss, Meera expressed her support but admitted she isn't a regular viewer: "I only saw the premiere episode. I don't watch this show as I don't like to see people fighting. But I want Mannara to definitely win the show."

'Safed' releases on ZEE5 on December 29th, featuring Meera Chopra alongside Abhay Verma and Barkha Bisht. Chopra's fearless performance without makeup promises to be a highlight of the film, prompting audiences to reflect on the power of raw emotions and the beauty of vulnerability.
