Bank of Baroda Introduces NCMC RuPay Prepaid Card for Effortless and Versatile Transactions
Customers and non-customers alike can acquire the card at Bank of Baroda branches, with immediate activation for real-time use.
Mumbai, Maharashtra. Bank of Baroda, a prominent public sector bank in India, has unveiled the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) RuPay Reloadable Prepaid Card, aligning with the "One Nation, One Card" initiative. This initiative introduces an inter-operable and multi-purpose transport card designed for seamless payments across various modes of public transport, tolls, parking, shopping, and more. The NCMC RuPay Platinum EMV chip-enabled Contactless Prepaid card brings convenience to users across the nation, enabling them to pay for Metro, buses, trains, cabs, ferries, tolls, parking, as well as facilitating day-to-day ATM cash withdrawals and payments through POS and E-commerce.
Customers and non-customers alike can acquire the card at Bank of Baroda branches, with immediate activation for real-time use. The card supports both online and offline transactions at NCMC-specific terminals. The maximum online wallet balance allowed is Rs 1,00,000/- (Rs One Lakh only), and the maximum offline wallet balance allowed is Rs 2,000/- (Rs Two Thousand only) at any given time.
Shri Lal Singh, Executive Director at Bank of Baroda, emphasized, "The Bank of Baroda NCMC RuPay Prepaid card adds a new dimension to cashless, on-the-go transactions and has the potential to transform the public transport commuting experience for users. With multiple use cases, the card offers enormous convenience, flexibility, and security to cardholders."
Cardholders can conveniently load or reload money into the online wallet through a dedicated portal provided by the Bank. For the offline wallet, reloading can be done at designated NCMC terminal operators at transit locations.
The card is widely accepted at all RuPay ecommerce and POS terminals, as well as ATM machines. Customers will receive transaction notifications through SMS on their registered mobile numbers.
